Job summary

Blue Water Development Corporation seeks a Camp Host at Jellystone Park Chincoteague Island to greet guests and promote resort activities. The role requires excellent guest service, basic writing skills, and mobility to move around the campground.

You will collect fees, compile attendance reports, assist guests with problems, and keep facilities clean. A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean exterior and interior facilities, especially bathroom buildings.

• Pick up litter and maintain a neat campsite.
• Assist other employees when needed and ensure guest readiness.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:
Camp Host responsibilities include greeting guests, answering questions, performing routine maintenance, cleaning lights, and possibly collecting campground fees. Using a creative assortment of methods, assist in promoting recreation operations and activities to internal and external sources.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to remain calm and friendly when confronted with upset visitors or problems
• Basic writing and computer skills
• The ability to be on your feet, ride a bike, and/or drive a golf cart, and move around freely with guests
• Ability to work positively with other campground employees and other staff members
• Support all company policies and procedures

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

WHO YOU WORK WITH:
The Camp Host will report to the General Manager and work closely with the Assistant General Manager.
WHAT YOU BRING:

• High school degree or GED equivalent
• Previous customer service experience required
• Thorough knowledge of the recreation industry programs and amenities

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS):

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear.
• The employee must walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Working in an outdoor setting, the employee must be able to perform in all types of weather conditions.
