Job summary

Blue Water is seeking a friendly housekeeper to join our team at Chincoteague Bay RV Resort & Cottages. You will clean guest rooms, cabins, and common areas to meet resort standards and ensure guest readiness.

The role involves dusting, laundry, and providing on-site guest service with a focus on reliability and teamwork. Seasonal positions offer sick time and holiday pay; health benefits are not included.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience.
• Hospitality setting experience preferred.
• Ability to follow resort standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, cabins, and cottage rentals, plus common areas and bathhouses.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:

A housekeeper’s responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing. The housekeeper also ensures that all rooms are cared for and inspected according to resort standards. The housekeeper ensures that all vacation rentals, common areas, bathrooms, etc., are clean, "guest-ready", and inspected in accordance with property standards.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

• Cleaning:
  • Cleaning guest rooms, cabins, and cottage rentals, as well as communal areas and bathhouses
  • This includes dusting, polishing, linen changes, bathroom cleaning and sanitation, kitchen fixtures and appliance cleaning, trash removal, vacuuming, or floor cleaning. Stripping and making beds
  • Ensuring rooms and rentals exceed standards and are in working order before guest arrival.
• Provides laundry support as appropriate, including washing, drying, folding, and sorting laundry at the property.
• Guest Service:
  • Providing on-site guest support by responding to queries or requests through excellent customer service.
• Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with guest service, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and other departments to exceed guest expectations and achieve company and departmental goals.
  • Ensures the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance.
• Safety Guidelines:
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and are aware of company-related practices.

WHAT YOU BRING:

At least 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality setting (preferred)

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS):

• Movement:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Climb or balance.
• Communication:
  • The employee is required to talk, listen, and provide excellent guest service.
• Ability to Lift:
  • Must frequently lift and/or move 25-50 pounds.
• Vision:
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
