Job summary

Blue Water Development Corporation is seeking a Camp Host to welcome guests, assist with routine campground operations, and promote local attractions at Sun Outdoors Cape Charles, Virginia. This seasonal role emphasizes friendly service and hands-on guest support.

You'll work on fee collection, reporting, and daily site maintenance, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction throughout the resort grounds.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills, including calm and friendly handling of upset visitors.
• Basic writing and computer skills.
• Ability to be on your feet, ride a bike, and/or drive a golf cart, and move around freely with guests.
• Thorough knowledge of the recreation industry programs and amenities.
• Previous customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Collecting fees.
• Preparing weekly revenue and attendance reports.
• Helping guests solve problems.
• Cleaning exterior and interior facilities (bathroom buildings).
• Provide information about the resort and local attractions.
• Picking up litter throughout the complex.
• Maintain a neat and orderly campsite.
• Assist other employees when asked.
• Ensures the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and guest-ready always.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:
Camp Host responsibilities include greeting guests, answering questions, performing routine maintenance, cleaning lights, and possibly collecting campground fees. Using a creative assortment of methods, assist in promoting recreation operations and activities to internal and external sources.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

WHO YOU WORK WITH:
The Camp Host will report to the General Manager and work closely with the Assistant General Manager.
WHAT YOU BRING:

• High school degree or GED equivalent
• Previous customer service experience required
• Thorough knowledge of the recreation industry programs and amenities

WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS):

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear.
• The employee must walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Working in an outdoor setting, the employee must be able to perform in all types of weather conditions.
