Job summary

Blue Water Development Corp. is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain guest rooms, cabins, and shared spaces at our Adirondacks campground properties. This role emphasizes cleanliness, guest-ready environments, and adherence to resort standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in hospitality, and demonstrates reliable attendance, strong customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and guest-ready standards.
• Ability to work with others to meet high guest-service expectations.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, cabins, and communal areas, including bathrooms and shared facilities.
• Provide laundry support: washing, drying, folding, and sorting linen.
• Assist guests with requests through excellent on-site guest service.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain a clean, orderly, and guest-ready property.
• Ensure rooms are inspected and meet resort standards before guest arrival.
• Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance and adherence to safety guidelines.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

A housekeeper’s responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing. The housekeeper also ensures that all rooms are cared for and inspected according to resort standards. The housekeeper ensures that all vacation rentals, common areas, bathrooms, etc., are clean, “guest-ready,” and inspected in accordance with property standards.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Cleaning:
  • Cleaning guest rooms, cabins, and cottage rentals, as well as communal areas and bathhouses
  • This includes dusting, polishing, linen changes, bathroom cleaning and sanitation, kitchen fixtures and appliance cleaning, trash removal, vacuuming, or floor cleaning. Stripping and making beds
  • Ensuring rooms and rentals exceed standards and are in working order before guest arrival.
• Provides laundry support as appropriate, including washing, drying, folding, and sorting laundry at the property.
• Guest Service:
  • Providing on-site guest support by responding to queries or requests through excellent customer service.
• Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with guest service, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and other departments to exceed guest expectations and achieve company and departmental goals.
  • Ensures the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance.
• Safety Guidelines:
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and are aware of company-related practices.

WHAT YOU BRING

At least 1 year of commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality setting (preferred)

• Movement:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Climb or balance.
