Job summary

Valley Youth House in Pennsylvania is seeking a Camp Head Chef to lead our summer camp kitchen and year-round programs. The role focuses on nutritious, cost-effective menus, procuring supplies, and delivering meals for 50–150 campers daily.

You will supervise kitchen staff, maintain dietary accommodations, ensure strict food-safety standards, and manage vendor relationships to control costs while keeping quality high.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial cooking or high-volume kitchen ops.
• Active ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to obtain before start.
• Experience in menu design, ingredient ordering, and inventory management.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning, purchasing, and inventory control for camp programs.
• Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks for 50–150 campers and staff daily.
• Manage dietary restrictions and ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Lead kitchen team and train seasonal staff.
• Vendor and cost management; monitor prices and reduce waste.
• Perform daily checks on commercial kitchen equipment and keep logs.
