Valley Youth House in Orefield, PA seeks a Seasonal Camp Assistant Head Chef to lead meal prep for 150+ campers and staff, ensuring scratch cooking, quality, and on-time service during summer operations.

You'll supervise dining hall staff, manage dietary accommodations, uphold food safety standards, assist with inventory, and coordinate with the Head Chef for day-to-day kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years in commercial cooking or institutional food service.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification required; Manager certification preferred or obtainable on hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; PA background clearances required.
• Ability to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs; flexible schedule during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation, batch cooking, and service for 150+ campers and staff daily.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory, and stock rotation.
• Ensure food safety, allergy accommodations, and sanitation standards.
• Supervise dining hall staff during shifts and support kitchen lead.
• Maintain temperature logs and report maintenance issues.
