Job summary

JCC Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Staff member to support Camp Chi/ Perlstein Retreat Center’s facilities. You will perform repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting, A/C and related systems, assist with setup for meetings and events, and help keep indoor and outdoor spaces safe and clean.

Qualified applicants have a High School diploma or equivalent, a Certified Pool Operator (or ability to obtain), and experience using hand and power tools, with knowledge of plumbing, carpentry,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Certified Pool Operator license (or ability to become certified) required.
• Experience using hand and power tools required.
• Knowledge of plumbing and carpentry basics.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of pool chemicals and pool filtration systems.
• Knowledge of floor scrubbing/buffing equipment and carpet cleaners/shampooing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently yet as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license with daily access to dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on work to accomplish tasks related to repair involving carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting, A/C, etc. for facilities and grounds.
• Clean breakout rooms, hallways, bathrooms and offices.
• Support camp activities and set up/break down facilities for events.
• Set up and tear down chairs, tables, cots, and equipment in various rooms.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and safety systems and ensure proper functionality.
