Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for recording live races, replaying results to judges or stewards, and perform simulcasting duties as needed during live racing.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Record all cameras, replay races as needed, run audio and simulcasting, run commercials, and assist with live production as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training in television broadcasting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SOCIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must have basic PC knowledge. Ability to use such programs as: Excel, Word, Photoshop, Sorenson squeeze, and Nero. Must have the ability to think and react quickly, and to initiate a change in program at any given moment.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Horse Racing Commission license.
