Job summary

Public Consulting Group LLC (PCG) is seeking a Claims Specialist payment processing clerk to issue ancillary payments to CalWORKs participants in our San Diego payment services operation. The role requires in-office, full-time work in San Diego County, with strong Excel/CalSAWS skills and attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities include form handling, relationship building with participants and county staff, and daily/ monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic working knowledge of Access.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Prior accounting, bookkeeping, payment processing, or related financial experience is preferred.
• Experience with social service programs or public assistance programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper forms and obtain signatures on required documentation.
• Establish and maintain relationships with CalWORKs participants and County staff.
• Provide monthly reporting statistics to supervisor for designated area.
• Provide daily payment discrepancy report and reconcile daily payments issued.
• Monitor accuracy and timeliness of payment processing.
• Verify payment requests meet policy guidelines and are entered into CalSAWS for authorization.
