Job summary

H2ajobs in the United States (North Dakota) seeks a farmhand to prepare calving facilities, calve calves during the calving season, medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal illnesses, and care for newborn calves and nursing mothers.

You will monitor calves and nursing mothers, isolate sick animals, provide feed during snowy periods, perform basic maintenance, move cattle to summer pastures and assist with grain transport and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

• Experience wanted: 2 months.
• Drivers license required within 30 days and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calving facility and calve out calves during the calving season.
• Medicate, vaccinate and treat seasonal illnesses; care for newborn calves and nursing mothers.
• Monitor newborn calves and nursing mothers; isolate sick calves.
• Feed cattle during snowy periods when pasture is not available; add dry bedding.
• Move cattle to summer grazing pastures and transport grain to markets; assist with basic farm upkeep and shop work.
