Job summary

H2ajobs in North Dakota seeks a farmhand to assist with calving, calf care, vaccination, and treatment of seasonal illnesses. You will care for newborn calves and nursing cows during winter and provide feed during snow periods while maintaining bedding and water access.

Responsibilities include removing snow, repairing fencing, basic equipment maintenance, and shop work. Housing and furnished meals are provided; transportation support is offered as needed with ICC-compliant travel arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience with calves and livestock care is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic farm maintenance and equipment servicing.

Responsibilities

• Calve out calves during calving season.
• Medicate, vaccinate and treat seasonal illnesses in livestock.
• Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers, especially in winter.
• Feed cattle during snowy periods when grazing is limited.
• Add dry bedding and remove snow from property.
• Break ice in water tanks daily and maintain water access.
• Fix and repair fencing damaged by snow.
• Perform basic farm maintenance and shop work.
