Under supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor, operates Category 1 and 2 equipment for snow removal and highway maintenance. Requires a Class A driver's license with Tank endorsement.
Operates snow removal equipment such as trucks with plows and sanders, motor graders, loaders, rotary snow blowers, and manages chain control, road closures, traffic directing, and warning signs. Assists with slide removal and other highway maintenance tasks.
Operates various equipment including dump trucks, front-end loaders, motor graders, snow blowers, trailers, mowers, and performs duties like paving, sign repair, culvert cleaning, litter removal, and roadside maintenance.
Works on special projects like blasting operations, fabricating tire chains, and setting up traffic controls. Maintains equipment, records, and reports related to work activities.
Located in Kyburz, El Dorado County. Must work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. Work hours vary seasonally, including night shifts and overtime during emergencies or storms. Personal safety gear is mandatory.
Possession of a valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement. Must pass drug screening. Verification of qualifications required prior to appointment. Foreign degrees require evaluation for U.S. equivalency. Applications must be complete and submitted by the final filing date.
