Under the supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor, the Caltrans Equipment Operator II (CEO II) will operate and service vehicles requiring a Class A commercial driver's license with tank (N) endorsement. The role involves highway maintenance, structures maintenance, construction, and landscape maintenance. When not operating specified equipment, duties may include those outlined for Caltrans Equipment Operator I, Highway or Landscape Maintenance Workers, and other highway maintenance tasks. The CEO II maintains knowledge of safety standards, policies, practices, and complies with departmental training requirements. The position may require assignment to different units or areas, with overnight travel up to 80% as needed.

The position is located at 19587 Hwy 88, Pine Grove, Amador County. Multiple positions may be filled. The incumbent may be exposed to loud noise, dust, chemicals, extreme weather, heights, confined spaces, uneven terrain, and vehicle traffic. Personal protective equipment must be worn, and safety policies followed. Work may include rotating shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, overtime, and emergency response.
