Job summary

Spherion Staffing and Recruiting NE Georgia seeks an experienced Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee our Alto facility’s daily logistics operations. You will lead a four-person team, ensure accurate, timely, and safe shipments, and maintain a calm environment under pressure.

Responsibilities include supervising inbound/outbound shipments, verifying orders, and using WMS/ERP systems to track inventory and generate reports.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations with increasing responsibility.
Proven experience leading 3–5 direct reports.
Calm presence under pressure; ability to de-escalate and keep team focused.
Strong computer literacy with WMS, ERP, and Excel.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise, train, and schedule a team of 4 inventory, shipping and receiving clerks.
Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments with proper packaging, routing, and documentation.
Verify accuracy of shipments against PO and packing slips; resolve discrepancies with vendors.
Use WMS/ERP to update inventory records and generate reports.
Serve as primary contact for shipping emergencies and bottlenecks.
Continuously improve procedures for cost, speed, and accuracy.
Ensure OSHA compliance and safety briefings.
