Overview

Superior Ambulance Service is the largest independent, locally owned and operated Emergency Medical Service provider in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. We provide wheelchair transportation, Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Critical Care Ground Transportation, and Critical Care Rotary Air Transportation. Responsibilities

• Answer, screen, and direct calls for the entire company.
• Determine the need for emergency transportation.
• Pre-arrange transport for facilities and assess the level of care needed for patients.
• Arrange specialty and critical care transportation.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide information.
• Communicate with multiple departments and EMS personnel.
• Support customers in arranging appropriate transport.
• Develop solutions for customer service issues.
• Direct calls to Flight desk as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Pleasant, professional phone manner.
• Detail-oriented.
• Typing skills of 30 wpm or better.
• Ability to perform well in a high-stress environment.
• Adaptability to changing policies.
• Ability to learn policies and recognize when to apply them.
• Medical background is a plus.
• EMD certification required within 1 year of employment.
