What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer, orient, and greet patients over the phone, focusing on scheduling appointments
- Determine appropriate clinic locations and schedule patients in the Vision system
- Collect and accurately document demographic, insurance, and eligibility information
- Verify pre-certification requirements and initiate the referral process
- Maintain professional relationships and respond to inquiries regarding patient accounts
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma and formal training from a vocational school or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a call center or centralized scheduling setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of general medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with the Vision system and MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Previous experience in a healthcare-related call center environment
