Scheduling Specialist; 0.6 FTE; Day Shift

This position offers a benefit-eligible part-time schedule, working Mon-Thu 1p-5p and Fri 8:30a-4:30p, with compensation starting at $18.32+ per hour. The role involves coordinating scheduling, referral management, registration, prior authorization, and insurance verification for patients entering the UnityPoint Health – Meriter system.

The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, work closely with clinical staff to schedule procedures, and handle patient information accurately. This is a fast-paced role requiring multitasking and attention to detail. The position is primarily remote but requires 6-8 weeks of in-person orientation at the Meriter Business Center in Madison, WI.

Qualifications include:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant work experience may be considered)
  • One or more years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Proficiency with keyboarding and MS Office systems
  • Knowledge of insurance terminology, medical terminology, scheduling, and registration requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
