Job summary

Yakima Neighborhood Health Services is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to support patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will handle inbound calls, schedule appointments, and navigate the NextGen EMR to update patient records while delivering compassionate service.

Fluent in English and Spanish, you will also assist patients with enrollment resources, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in both English/Spanish.
• 2 years of previous customer service experience (healthcare is a plus).
• Ability to successfully pass a background check in relation to the position applied for.

Responsibilities

• Taking inbound calls from patients in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Scheduling medical appointments for patients and routing calls to other departments as necessary.
• Using our electronic medical record system, Nextgen to enter and update all patient demographics in their chart.
• Provide patients with resources to enroll with Yakima Neighborhood Health Services if not already enrolled.
• Follow all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
