Job summary

Western Growers Assurance Trust is seeking a detail-oriented Call Center Clerk to support the Customer Service team. You will route correspondence, prescreen claims, and assist with billing inquiries, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

You will also document processes and participate in projects to improve service delivery. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently or in a team, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a professional office administration role; inbound call center experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Intermediate knowledge of health insurance claims processing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general office administrative functions.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic accounting or finance research to manage Check Tracers, FSA, HRA, and HSA accounts.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, respond to, and process daily clerical inquiries via fax, mail, email, and queues.
• Prescreen claim documents to ensure validation and accuracy prior to processing.
• Cross-reference all claims and correspondence to determine accuracy.
• Prepare routine reports and assist with ad hoc projects.
• Analyze problems and provide information and solutions.
• Lead and respond to escalated customer inquiries regarding billing issues.
