Job summary

Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, is expanding into California and seeks an Agency Development Manager to build our independent agency distribution from the ground up. Based remotely in California, you will recruit and onboard agencies, provide training on surplus lines, and collaborate with underwriting to drive growth.

This field-based role requires strong relationship skills, Salesforce proficiency, and a track record of achieving sales goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years P&C industry experience including personal lines.
• CA Property & Casualty Broker Agent license within 90 days of employment.
• Training or managing independent agencies a plus.

Responsibilities

• Launch Orchid in CA by targeting agencies and setting activity goals.
• Recruit, appoint and onboard new independent agencies and be their main contact through submissions and binds.
• Train agents on CA surplus lines, wildfire underwriting and disclosures.
• Collaborate with underwriting and marketing; feed competitive and regulatory intel to programs.
• Track agency activations, submissions and performance in Salesforce.
• Represent Orchid at CA agent association events and agency visits.
• Develop and nurture relationships with agencies to drive risk selection and partnerships.
• Generate new premium growth through agency interactions (calls, emails, visits).
• Deliver training and ongoing support on systems, products, and guidelines.
• Stay informed on industry trends and competitive landscape.
