Job summary

Multimatic is seeking a detail-oriented Calibration/Metrology Technician to manage and maintain calibration systems for gauges and end-of-line equipment. The role supports metrology activities, ensuring compliance with IATF16949 and related standards, and requires self-direction with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include performing calibrations, maintaining records, and training others in measurement techniques.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in quality related field.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with GagePack preferred but not required.
• Experience with IATF16949 preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, perform, and document calibrations according to company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate received gauges and develop calibration procedures.
• Maintain gauging equipment within specifications.
• Adhere to IATF 16949, ISO, government, and safety regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service of gauges and equipment.
• Maintain calibration records and product changes.
• Perform maintenance, calibration, and preventive tasks on gauges and end-of-line equipment.
• Order calibration supplies and spare parts.
• Conduct capability studies, GRR studies, and MSA per customer requirements.
• Train others in measurement equipment usage and standards.
• Read, interpret, and understand GD&T blueprints.
• Proficient with Microsoft products.

SUMMARY

Manages & maintains calibration system. Cleans, service, and maintains manufacturing gauges and equipment. Supports metrology related activities. Support IATF16949 regulatory requirements. Should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect, perform, and document calibrations according to company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate received gauges and develop calibration procedures.
• Maintains gauging equipment within operating within specifications.
• Strict adherence to IATF 16949, ISO, government, and safety regulations that ensures equipment is calibrated and maintained as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service of gauges & equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations and product changes.
• Performs maintenance, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of gauges & End of Line equipment.
• Orders calibration supplies and equipment. Maintains spare parts for gauges & equipment.
• Perform capability studies, GRR studies, and MSA to Customer Specific requirements.
• Trains others in the proper use of measurement equipment and standards.
• GD&T – needs to be able to read, interpret and understand blueprints.
• Basic Computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft products.
• Able to run parts using PC-DMIS Software package on CMM.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in quality related field
• 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing (preferred)
• Experience with GagePack (preferred but not required)
• Experience with IATF16949 (preferred but not required)

Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents and statutes from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure and policy manuals, contracts, and agreements.

Ability to write instructions, procedures, policies, reports, and various correspondences.

Ability to speak and present effectively in one-on-one, and in small and large group settings, as well as before customers, government, and regulatory agencies.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts in statistical analysis, MSAs, and part variations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and create instructions, reports and analysis from data or statutes furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Interpret and apply laws and regulations to situations. Ability to negotiate with associates and business entities.
