Job summary

Taco, Inc. in Cranston, RI is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Technician to own the calibration program and support QA engineers and manufacturing.

You will help develop standards to meet quality specifications and coach teammates to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with ISO requirements. This role emphasizes inspection, data analysis from CMMs and gages, and driving corrective actions on the shop floor in a primarily on-site setting to support customer satisfaction and product

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade, technical school or college.
• IPC 610 D Printed Circuit Board Assemblies training and/or certification.
• 10+ years of experience in inspection of products and using precision measuring instruments.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor a plus) and ETQ QA software.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Hexagon CMM training for the coordinate measurement system.
• Experience using SPC methods and software.
• Knowledge of ASME specs and tolerancing.
• Knowledge of metrology techniques.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis (8D).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Travel may be required to local warehouse site.

Responsibilities

• Supports development and maintenance of quality systems by writing quality plans and analyzing blueprints.
• Develops inspection and calibration procedures for quality inspectors.
• Collects data using calibrated gauges and CMM for material inspection.
• Uses data to program CMM and analyze trends.
• Generates internal and supplier corrective actions with root-cause analysis.
• Ensures packing slips and certificates meet receiver requirements.
• Prints inspection worksheets detailing critical dimensions.
• Reviews supplier test reports for conformance measurements.
• Maintains ISO 9001:2015 documentation and archive cycle.
• Follows QA Engineer instructions for gage calibration and scheduling.
• Performs hydro, final, in-process inspections and NDE as needed.
• Performs XRF, visual and penetrant examinations as needed.
• Conducts advanced tests to ensure product quality standards.
• Performs failure analysis to identify root causes and repair approaches.
• Collects and analyzes new and returned product samples.
• Writes and enforces organization quality standards and ISO updates.
• Ensures team adheres to policies and completes tasks.
• Coaches and guides team by reviewing work quality and assigning actions.
