Job summary

Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff seeks an Accreditation Manager to oversee CALEA compliance and lead planning, research, and development for major programs. The role guides supervisory activities across a major division, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and policies.

This senior administrative position requires in-depth knowledge of accreditation processes and strong independent judgment in a complex environment within the Sheriff’s Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in governmental activities including at least six (6) months of CALEA accreditation process experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all Departmental Accreditation activities to ensure CALEA standards compliance.
• Planning, Research and Development: develops long- and short-range plans and manages agency policy and accreditation program.
• Agency Continuity of Operations Coordinator: develops and maintains COOP and coordinates with senior personnel.
• Supervisory Duties: plans, assigns and supervises designated bureau activities within policy.
