Job summary

BART Police Department is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Manager of Accreditation. This role oversees CALEA standards compliance, leads the accreditation program, and advises on organizational readiness.

Reporting to a Deputy Police Chief, you will work with executives and sworn/civilian personnel to align policies with accreditation requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide accreditation guidance and training across the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Public Administration or related field.
  • Five years of full-time law enforcement experience, including two years in supervision.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Substitution: additional professional experience may substitute education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Department’s accreditation program and serve as subject matter expert on CALEA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with CALEA accreditation processes and organizational readiness.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and staff to align policies with accreditation standards.
  • Provide accreditation guidance and training throughout the Department.
