Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery in Tarboro, NC is seeking a 2nd Shift Icers to operate on layer cake production, icing between layers and stacking. You will maintain product specs and keep downtime to a minimum.

Candidates should have at least 12 months of continuous work with the same employer in manufacturing, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work 8–12 hour shifts, follow GMPs and PPE rules, and contribute to a clean, safe production area.

Qualifications

• 12 months of continuous work experience with the same employer in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior work experience in food manufacturing.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Practice good safety habits and have a good safety record.
• Practice good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
• Have and maintain good attendance.
• Practice good housekeeping at all times.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to work 8-12 hour shifts—standing.
• Must wear PPE (safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, boots).
• Must withstand cold and hot environments.

Responsibilities

• Team Members spreads icing on layer cakes, either between layers and stacks one layer of cake on top of the other, or spreads icing on the top and sides of the layer cake.
• Team Member must know the product specifications and remove damaged or rejected layers and/or cakes from the belt and place in the appropriate receptacle.
• Team Member must maintain the required number of cakes per minute and work with others to minimize downtime.
• Completes paperwork as needed (e.g., crew sheets, downtime reports).
• Adhere to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s policies, SQF 2000, GMPs and Global Business Standards.
