Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and valued by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions; offer suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, using proper bakery equipment.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Check product quality for freshness; review sell-by dates and take action; operate bakery equipment per guidelines.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products for customers; stay current with ads.
