You will train apprentices, follow food safety rules, keep a clean workstation, assist customers, and support store programs. This fast-paced, hands-on role requires physical stamina and flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping techniques.
• Understand color theory for buttercream colors and palette coordination.
• Proficient in using various icings and finishes (Swiss/American buttercream, ganache, etc.).
• Able to follow recipes, manage time, and stay organized.
• Advanced knife handling and safety around tools and equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capable of delivering excellent customer service and product presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes per standard procedures; maintain production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases; monitor freshness and rotation.
• Guide and support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer phones, and assist customers.
