Reports To

Management Staff and Shift Leaders (Direct report to Cake Manager, if applicable)

Purpose Of Job

Assemble and prepare soft serve and Blizzard cakes, including decorating with icing, gel, drawings, decorating kits, air brush, edible images, and letterings. Ensure all cake products meet Dairy Queen standards of quality and excellence. May be required to fulfill responsibilities of other staff positions as outlined in non-management job descriptions.

Essential Functions

1. Prepare and decorate cake products according to customer specifications and standards.
2. Operate and maintain cake and soft serve equipment safely, following health and safety standards.
3. Maintain an inventory of decorated cakes, including backup cakes for peak times and promotions.
4. Keep display freezers stocked with a variety of attractively displayed cakes.
5. Conduct sampling and actively promote products.
6. Take and fulfill customer cake orders professionally and promptly.
7. Provide excellent customer service, being attentive and courteous.
8. Work as part of a team to ensure quality, service, cleanliness, and value.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and stock needed items.
10. Ensure proper product rotation and cleanliness of production area and equipment, adhering to PRIDE standards.
11. Perform cleaning tasks including counters, restrooms, trash removal, sweeping, and mopping.
12. Report issues or unusual matters to supervisor promptly.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Accountability

Decorate cakes per specifications, operate the cake production area according to standards, and ensure guest satisfaction through quality, value, and service. Maintain positive relationships with staff and customers, and communicate significant issues to management.

Qualification Standards

Candidates should demonstrate exceptional decorating skills with a portfolio, with cake decorator certification preferred. Ability to work in varying temperatures, handle soft serve ice cream, perform under pressure, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow food safety procedures. Must have excellent customer service skills, good manners, hygiene, and a positive attitude.

Additional Information

Perform other duties as requested by management. Part-time position with shifts in day, afternoon, or night. Located at 2000 Memorial Church Drive, Morgantown, WV. Entry level, in the Food & Beverages industry.
