Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The associate will be responsible for:

• Maintaining a well-stocked and appealing bakery department to meet customer demand. Greeting customers, offering suggestions, answering questions about products and cake preparation, and resolving concerns promptly and courteously. Taking customer orders over the phone or in person with a positive attitude. Determining customer preferences for size, flavor, and appearance. Creating decorated products in a timely manner.
• Decorating cakes and bakery items using dyes, specific or custom designs, and preparing creams, frostings, and fillings according to company recipes.
• Trimming and shaping cakes, applying icing between layers and on surfaces, and tinting icing as needed.
• Filling and merchandising the bakery sales area, adhering to production logs, and ensuring quality and freshness through proper rotation and markdown policies. Managing inventory levels with proper ordering and logging.
• Assisting with receiving, unloading, checking deliveries, and storing items, using power or hand jacks if trained (training provided).
• Supporting general sanitation and cleanliness in the department, following schedules to meet health and OSHA standards, and disposing of trash properly.
• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth department operations and continuous performance improvement.
• Utilizing all provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
• Performing other duties or assisting in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities.

To succeed in this role, the associate must be able to perform all duties satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:
