BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Retail experience
• Bakery/cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math knowledge
• Effective communication skills

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:

• Speak, read, and/or write in a second language
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions and making suggestions about products
• Gain and maintain product knowledge to assist customers effectively
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests using proper equipment
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and use bakery equipment appropriately
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory merchandise
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers
• Maintain inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies
• Follow all health, safety, and regulatory standards
• Adhere to merchandising, customer service, labor control, safety, and loss prevention policies
• Practice safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
• Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
• Report safety risks, incidents, and illegal activities to management
