Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months experience
• No High School diploma required
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Age 18 or older
• Team player and supporting a strong bakery team

Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures (category info, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items, color mixing).
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and WOW the guest.
• Maintain safety as top priority for team, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and helping them locate products.
• Become familiar with store products to answer questions and make suggestions.
• Properly handle products and equipment per food safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques.
• Prepare and decorate products for Bakery cases and displays, rotate products, follow dating procedures to ensure freshness.
• Provide active sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer delight.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work area, and department to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist in maintaining Bakery backroom, cooler and freezer efficiency by unloading deliveries.
• Maintain department procedures, daily setups, ordering, copyright policies, and product rotation.
• Assist in other areas as required.
