Giant Eagle, Inc. is hiring an Apprentice Cake Decorator to join our Bakery team. You will assist in decorating cakes, decorate products for displays, and deliver friendly guest service while following safety and sanitation guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, learning bakery procedures, and developing skills across clerical and baking functions. Experience is not required; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months.
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age.
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures for bakery items and cake program.
• Follow procedures to meet in-store goals for out-of-stock percentage.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and WOW guests.
• Maintain safety as a top priority for team members and guests.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and helping them find products.
• Prepare and decorate bakery items for display and ensure freshness and date codes.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work area, and department.
