Qualifications

• Retail experience is required.
• Bakery or cake decorating experience preferred.
• Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations.
• Basic math skills for transactions.
• Effective communication with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about products and help customers in the department and store.
• Learn product knowledge and respond with suggestions.
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items per customer requests.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and dates; use bakery equipment as directed.
• Decorate cakes and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and stay current with ads.
• Maintain health, safety and compliance with rules.
• Identify safety risks and notify management.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Report safety issues and incidents, including theft or fraud.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
