Hook & Reel is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help keep the kitchen moving in our fast-paced Cajun seafood restaurant. You’ll work with a vibrant team to prepare and plate dishes, maintain cleanliness, and support front-of-house partners to ensure smooth service.

This role suits someone who enjoys a lively environment, is reliable, and can stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience is not necessary but preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours per shift.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Hook & Reel's standards.
• Assist in food preparation and ensure all ingredients are fresh and ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate timely service.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
• Manage time to ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and all dishes are ready for use.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with the front-of-house and management regarding allergy orders.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
• Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
