Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator for the Live Haul department at our Albany, KY facility. The role focuses on welding, repairing, and fabricating wire cages, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and operate related tools and equipment in various conditions. Applicants should have at least one year of diesel mechanic experience or completion of a diesel training program; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• One year diesel mechanic experience or completion of a diesel mechanic training program.
• Current CDL preferred.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Welding and repairing live haul cages; fabricating components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on cages, including winter panels installation/removal.
• Repair cage doors, brackets, springs and welds; patch holes in wire and cage floors.
• Operate machine tools, welding and hand tools safely to complete repairs.
• Load/offload and strap cages; manage shop material inventory.
• Possess ability to operate forklift and other PITs as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and quality standards.
