Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an Automation Technician 6 for Albany, KY. The role requires operating lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders, plus TIG/MIG welding and reverse engineering parts.

You will read blueprints and use gauges, calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions. Candidate should have an AS in Electronics Technology or equivalent and 2+ years in industrial maintenance or automation, with SAP Maintenance proficiency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with post-secondary training in electronics or related field.
• 2+ years in industrial maintenance or automation; electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Proficiency with SAP Maintenance and strong documentation/research skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathe, milling machine, drill press and grinder.
• Reverse engineer small parts as needed and weld TIG/MIG.
• Read and interpret blueprints and measurement tools (gauges, calipers, indicators).
• Ensure proper setup, cutting, squaring, milling, tapping and boring of parts.
