Job summary

Havre Public Schools is seeking a part-time cafeteria assistant to help supervise students and support mealtime operations. You will assist with food distribution, ensure cleanliness, and help maintain order in the cafeteria and surrounding areas.

Under supervision of the building principal, this role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and collaborative teamwork with teachers and staff to uphold district policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
• Ensure tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Assist with food purchases, distribution of food, disposal of waste, and return of trays and utensils.
• Ensure students remain seated in assigned areas during mealtime.
• Circulate among tables to assist as needed.
• Organize groups of students for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Report infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues to teachers, principal, nurse or security as appropriate.
