Job summary

Muhlenberg School District is seeking a Cafeteria Assistant to support the head cook and building administrators in maintaining a safe, orderly cafeteria for students. This role emphasizes student supervision, proper behavior, and food service assistance within a typical school environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily cafeteria operations, enforcing conduct, and reporting emergencies while upholding safety and cleanliness standards in the dining area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Previous experience with students preferred.
• Pre-employment medical examination and criminal history/clearance reports required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist students in the cafeteria.
• Supervise student behavior and help correct misbehavior as needed.
• Call for assistance in emergencies and report dangerous situations.
• Clean tables, return areas, and ensure clean trays and silverware are available.
• Assist with cleaning spills and wipe walls near trash receptacles.
• Model appropriate lunchtime behavior and help maintain cafeteria cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the head cook or building administrators.
