Job summary

Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton, Massachusetts is seeking a Cafeteria Helper for 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM school days. The role supports the Food Services Director, assists with meal service, and helps maintain order and cleanliness in the cafeteria.

Under supervision, you will operate food service equipment, monitor student behavior, assist with table cleaning, and help with food prep and serving lines while following sanitation procedures. Immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of food service equipment (slicer, ovens, steamers, dish machine, knives, washer/dryer, POS terminals).
• Monitors student behavior in the cafeteria.
• Maintains cleanliness by assisting students to clear and clean tables and floors.
• Prepares food and condiments according to the daily menu needs.
• Sets up and breaks down serving lines using proper sanitation procedures.
• Cleans kitchen equipment and work areas including washing dishes and floors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

REPORTS TO: Food Services Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Food Services Director, the Cafeteria Helper helps to maintain order and cleanliness in the cafeteria during meal service. This role also assists with kitchen operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with a variety of food service equipment, including but not limited to, slicer, ovens, steamers, dish machine, knives, washing machine/dryer, and cashier at POS terminals.
• Monitors student behavior in the cafeteria.
• Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria by working with the students to clear and clean the tables and floors.
• Prepares food and condiments according to the daily menu needs.
• Sets up and breaks down serving lines, using proper sanitation procedures.
• Cleans kitchen equipment and work areas. This includes washing dishes, pots & pans, cleaning cafeteria eating areas, sweeping the floor and any other general cleaning as needed.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• This is a part time position and there aren’t any benefits associated with this position.
• Hours: 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM when school is in session.

HOURLY RATE

$19.90 per hour
