Job summary

Child Development Center in Kodiak, AK seeks a Food Service Worker to perform cafeteria-style service, prepare meals, and maintain kitchen cleanliness. You will assist with coffee, salads, sandwiches, and box lunches while following safety and sanitation guidelines.

The role requires reading comprehension, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and the potential to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Intermittent, 0–19 hrs/wk with on-site duties at the Kodiak location.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
• Previous work experience in a food service facility.
• Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
• Must be able to read and understand written material and follow instructions and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold food.
• Serves food cafeteria-style to diners.
• Serves tables family-style and refills as necessary.
• Brews coffee in large urns and manages timing for servings.
• Prepares salads and fruit dishes.
• Packs box lunches and serves food in standard portions.
