Job summary

Warren City Schools is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial & Food Services staff member to maintain cafeteria cleanliness for students and staff and assist in daily custodial needs around the building.

The role requires physical ability, adherence to district training, and the capacity to lift up to 51 lbs and stand for extended periods, with responsibilities spanning breakfast setup/cleanup, trash duties, and safe cleaning practices.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must have the ability to perform the duties required of the position.
• Must participate in District trainings on proper cleaning methods, new equipment use and safe use of cleaning supplies.
• Must be able to lift up to 51 lbs and be able to work alone with limited supervision.
• Must be able to work on your feet for over 90% of the day.

Responsibilities

• Report daily with the Plant Manager 1 about specific needs or schedules in the building.
• Responsible for the daily cleaning of assigned areas, follow posted schedule of work.
• Assist with breakfast time for students (set up and clean up); including tables and trash if applicable.
• Maintain cafeteria tables, floors, spills, etc., as needed.
• Remain on duty during breakfast and lunch periods for custodial needs.
• Assist in emptying trash (if needed).
• Properly clean and disinfect specific areas that need cleaned as soon as possible.
• Assist in mowing of the courtyard when needed.
• In inclement weather, clean and treat sidewalks and walkways around entrances for safe passage.
• Assist in grounds cleanup within the buildings' perimeter when needed.
• Work with and care for district cleaning equipment and report repairs.
• Participate in special cleaning projects as scheduled with Plant Manager 1.
• Abide by rules, policies and procedures of the Warren City School District Board of Education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
