Job summary

Warren City Schools is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial & Food Services team member to support opening daily operations, inspect the building, and maintain a clean, safe environment for staff, students and guests.

Responsibilities include cleaning duties, campus grounds upkeep, equipment operation, and coordination with the Plant Manager on building issues. Training and compliance with safety protocols are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must participate in district cleaning training on cleaning methods and safe use of supplies.
• Must be able to lift up to 51 lbs and work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to stand/walk for over 90% of the work day.

Responsibilities

• Open the building and perform an overall building inspection.
• Walk the outside grounds to ensure campus is free of trash.
• Responsible for the daily cleaning of assigned areas.
• Observe and maintain safety; report suspicious activity.
• Learn to recognize building systems issues and inform Plant Manager.
• Report daily with the Plant Manager for needs or schedules.
• Operate a push mower and maintain courtyards.
• Assist the building's Preventative Maintenance Tech when asked.
• Relieve the day janitor for lunch period.
• Participate in special cleaning projects.
• In inclement weather, clean sidewalks and walkways.
• Abide by district rules and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
