Normandin Middle School in New Bedford, MA is seeking a dedicated Cafeteria Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for students and staff. You will follow the monthly menu under the Cafeteria Manager, perform dishwashing, cashiering, and maintain sanitation throughout the kitchen.

Responsibilities include portion control, food safety, temperature monitoring, and adherence to USDA reimbursable meal guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Current Safe Serve or similar food safety certificate preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Current Food Allergy Awareness Certification, or ability to obtain.
• Current Choke Safe Certification preferred.
• Background check per CORI requirements.
• Willing to be trained in basic nutrition, sanitation, and equipment use.

Responsabilités

• Cook and serve meals to students and staff with proper portion controls.
• Ensure correct portioning and accuracy of reimbursable meal items.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs daily.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, steamers, kettles, ranges, slicers).
• Assist with end-of-day cleanup and restocking as directed by the Cafeteria Manager.
• Interact professionally with students and staff and report issues promptly.
