Responsibilities
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving meals for Publix associates.
  • The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
  • Knowledge of cooking principles.
  • At least one year of cooking experience in a diverse environment such as a restaurant, Publix cafeteria, or culinary school.
  • Food Safety Professionals certification or equivalent (within 90 days of start date).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write, and solve math problems.
  • Successfully complete a Basic Office Skills Test before starting.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and twist.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
  • Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
  • Commitment to Publix’s mission.
Additional Qualifications for Current Greensboro Distribution Associates
  • More than one year of cooking experience in a similar environment.
  • Food Safety Professionals Certification or equivalent.
