Job summary

Atlantic Casualty Insurance Co. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the company cafeteria’s daily operations.

You will assist with breakfast, lunch and event meal preparation for employees and guests, and help keep the dining area clean, organized, and stocked. Requirements include a GED or high school diploma and 3–5 years of related kitchen experience, knowledge of culinary skills and food purchasing, basic computer skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma is required and 3–5 years related experience or training.
  • Knowledge of culinary skills, menu development and food purchasing preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel/Outlook) are expected; POS experience is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary

Assist with the daily operations of the company kitchen and cafeteria.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily preparation of breakfast, lunch and event meals for employees and their guests.
  • Help manage food inventory by assisting with ordering, shopping, and stocking supplies for daily meal preparation.
  • Ensure the kitchen, dining, and food storage areas are clean and well‑organized daily.
  • Consistently apply safe food handling practices.
  • Deliver high‑quality customer service to all employees and guests.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range provided is for hires in the listed geographic areas only and will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of culinary skills, menu development and food purchasing skills preferred. Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams). Experience with Point‑of‑Sale systems (POS) a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Required Skills
  • Oral and written communication skills for contact with fellow employees, other team members and upper management.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely, such as those used for food preparation or storage.
  • Ability to address and/or recommend solutions to kitchen‑related equipment or food supply problems or needs.
Mental Requirements

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.

Physical Requirements
  • Regular use of hands and/or fingers.
  • Use of handle controls and ability to talk or hear.
  • Ability to sit, squat or stand and reach with hands and arms.
  • Extensive standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
  • Driving a company vehicle on a regular basis.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Works mostly indoors and occasionally outdoors. Must be able to drive a company vehicle for the purchase of food and beverages.
