Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to support the hospital cafe and catering operations. You will serve guests, operate the POS system, prepare menu items, and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment according to safety standards.

Shifts run 9:30-6:00 and 11:00–7:30 with every other weekend and holiday rotation. A food handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days is required or pursued after hire.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Food service and point-of-sale (cashier) experience preferred.
  • Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment in accordance with policies.
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment and POS system.
  • Prepares menu items for cafe guests and catering events following standardized recipes.
  • Serving items to patients, guests, and catering events with proper utensils and portions.
  • Follows HACCP principles for time and temperature and records production data.
  • Cleans and sanitizes surfaces, equipment, and work areas; restocks service areas.

Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment
  • Stores, labels and dates food items; uses the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology
  • Operates point of sale system
  • Prepares menu items for Café guests and catering events following standardized recipes and food production schedules
  • Serves menu items for patients, Café guests and catering events utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving size
  • Sets up and stocks service areas
  • Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature; records per policy
  • Records and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste records
  • Prepares pot/pan area and pot/pan washer prior to use; scrapes, soaks, washes, sanitizes and put puts/pan away following established procedures
  • Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department
  • Cleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education And Experience
  • Customer service experience.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • High School Graduate

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
