Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to serve café guests, prepare food, and operate the point of sale system. The role emphasizes sanitation, safety, and adherence to recipes and production schedules within a fast-paced food service environment.

Shifts include 9:30-6:00 and 11:00-7:30, with every other weekend and holiday coverage rotation. Required is customer service experience and a High School Diploma, plus preferred food service and cashier experience to support patient and guest

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations.
• Operates and maintains food service equipment.
• Stores, labels and dates food items; uses FIFO.
• Operates point of sale system.
• Prepares menu items for Café guests and catering events following standardized recipes and food production schedules.
• Serves menu items for patients, Café guests and catering events utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving size.
• Sets up and stocks service areas.
• Follows HACCP principles for time and temperature; records per policy.
• Records and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste records.
• Prepares pot/pan area and pot/pan washer prior to use; scrapes, soaks, washes, sanitizes and puts/pan away.
• Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department.
• Cleans throughout the department including surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Serves Café guests and operates point of sale system. Prepares food. Performs a variety of sanitation and food service duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and service standards.

Required Education and Experience

• Customer service experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Graduate
• Food service and point of sale (cashier) experience.

Required Licensure and Certification

• Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days.

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
