Job summary

Kansas Health System in Liberty Hospital is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to serve Café guests, operate the point-of-sale system, and prepare menu items following approved recipes and schedules.

You will maintain a sanitary, safe work environment, assist with catering events, and support food service operations across shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience is required.
  • High School Diploma preferred; food service experience beneficial.
  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days.

Position Summary / Career Interest

Serves Café guests and operates point of sale system. Prepares food. Performs a variety of sanitation and food service duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and service standards.

Shifts

Shifts are from 9:30-6:00 and 11:00 - 7:30. Every other weekend and our holiday coverage rotation

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations
  • Operates and maintains food service equipment
  • Stores, labels and dates food items; uses the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology
  • Operates point of sale system
  • Prepares menu items for Café guests and catering events following standardized recipes and food production schedules
  • Serves menu items for patients, Café guests and catering events utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving size
  • Sets up and stocks service areas
  • Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature; records per policy
  • Records and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste records
  • Prepares pot/pan area and pot/pan washer prior to use; scrapes, soaks, washes, sanitizes and put puts/pan away following established procedures
  • Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department
  • Cleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

Customer service experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

High School Graduate

Food service and point of sale (cashier) experience.

Required Licensure and Certification

Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days.

Knowledge Requirements

Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
