Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a Cafeteria Aide for full-time daytime shifts in Liberty, MO. Responsibilities include serving Café guests, operating the POS system, food preparation, and maintaining HACCP-compliant safety practices.

Shifts run 9:30-6:00 or 11:00-7:30 with every-other weekend and holiday rotation, and require adherence to sanitation, serving, and record-keeping standards. Preferred candidates have high school graduation and some food service/POS experience.

• Preferred: Food service and point of sale (cashier) experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations.
• Operates and maintains food service equipment.
• Stores, labels and dates food items; uses the FIFO method.
• Operates point of sale system.
• Prepares menu items for Café guests and catering events following standardized recipes and food production schedules.
• Serves menu items for patients, Café guests and catering events utilizing correct serving utensils and serving sizes.
• Sets up and stocks service areas.
• Follows HACCP principles for time and temperature; records per policy.
• Records and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste records.
• Prepares pot/pan area and pot/pan washer prior to use; scrapes, soaks, washes, sanitizes and puts away.
• Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department.
• Cleans surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors throughout the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Serves Café guests and operates point of sale system. Prepares food. Performs a variety of sanitation and food service duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and service standards.

Shifts are from 9:30-6:00 and 11:00 – 7:30. Every other weekend and our holiday coverage rotation

• Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature; records per policy
• Records and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste records
• Prepares pot/pan area and pot/pan washer prior to use; scrapes, soaks, washes, sanitizes and put puts/pan away following established procedures
• Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department
• Cleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
