Job summary

The Lookout at Echo Point, operated by The Lookout, is seeking a Café Team Leader to guide daily café operations and support the management team in a fast-paced hospitality setting. You will lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of service and presentation for guests from around the world.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who can train and develop team members while maintaining stock control, safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a team leader or hospitality leadership role.
• Experience leading staff, delegating tasks and coordinating busy shifts.
• Understanding of stock control, food safety and hospitality operations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to work alongside the team.
• Ability to train and develop staff while maintaining high standards.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Lead the day-to-day running of café shifts and ensure efficient service.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate and support café staff during service.
• Staffing Support: Maintain appropriate staffing levels and communicate needs to the Venue Manager.
• Stock Control: Conduct stocktakes, monitor levels, minimize wastage and assist with ordering.
• Customer Service: Deliver excellent service and uphold standards of presentation and quality.
• Training & Development: Coach team members to improve service and knowledge.
• Operational Standards: Maintain cleanliness, food safety and workplace procedures.
• Problem Solving: Address customer enquiries and resolve issues in a busy cafe environment.

About the Role

As Café Team Leader, you'll support daily café operations,assist the management team and help ensure every shift runs smoothly. This is ahands-on leadership role combining operational support, team development andcustomer service.

Key Responsibilities

• DailyOperations: Lead the day-to-day running of café shifts, ensuringefficient service and smooth operations.
• TeamLeadership: Supervise, motivate and support café staff throughoutservice.
• StaffingSupport: Support appropriate staffing levels during shifts andcommunicate operational staffing requirements to the Venue Manager.
• StockControl: Conduct regular stocktakes, monitor stock levels, minimisewastage and assist with ordering.
• CustomerService: Deliver excellent café service while maintaining highstandards of presentation, quality and guest satisfaction.
• Training& Development: Train, coach and mentor team members to improveservice standards, product knowledge and operational efficiency.
• OperationalStandards: Maintain cleanliness, food safety, workplace safety andcompany procedures.
• ProblemSolving: Confidently manage customer enquiries, resolve issues andrespond to the challenges of a busy café environment.

About You

We're looking for someone who leads by example, stays calmunder pressure and understands what it takes to run a successful café.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:
